City & Guilds Entry Level Certificate in Employability Skills (Entry 2)


Overview:

Employability Skills qualifications are designed to support an individual successfully gaining a job, progressing in a chosen field, preparing the individual for further study and supporting the development of techniques required for successful independent living.

 

Target Group

This qualification aims at anyone who wants to live a more independent life, progress in education and/or their employment prospects; get into a job, develop on the job or move onto the next job, as they progress along the career ladder.

 

Contents:

 

·        Planning for progression

-     The aim of this unit is to help the learner understand, recognize and build on personal strengths

 

·        Personal finance

-        The aim of this unit is to give the learner an introduction to personal finance.

 ·        Behavior at work

-       The aim of this unit is to introduce the learner to the range and type of conduct needed in the workplace. The learner will be assisted to understand and demonstrate on some appropriate behaviors in the workplace.

·        Effective communication

-        The aim of this unit is to help the learner understand effective communication.

 ·        Applying for a job

-     The aim of this unit is to introduce the learner to different ways in which they could apply for a job.

 ·        Improve personal manner and conduct

-        The aim of this unit is to be able to conduct and present yourself appropriately.

 ·        Searching for a job

-        The aim of this unit is to help the learner know how to search for potential jobs.

     ·        Working as part of a group

       -          The aim of this unit is to help the learner to work with others and review their role.

     ·        Dealing with problems in daily life

      -       The aim of this unit is to introduce the learners to problem solving and help to develop    skills to tackle problems in daily life with advice, support and guidance.
