The virtual forum is the first-of-its-kind aimed at networking young volunteers with the local and global bodies to learn more about their services, activities and volunteering development opportunities in several areas.

In his opening speech, Al-Nabulsi stressed the importance of taking advantage of digital transformation in all aspects of life, as well as looking forward towards the future and advancement of our societies using non-traditional methods including virtual and digital activities.

Al-Nabulsi also emphasized the significance of volunteering work as one of the Sustainable Development indicators, which also is considered one of the social development pillars, noting that the Ministry fully comprehends the need to institutionalize volunteering work, therefore, it started applying several legislative measures including the formation of a higher government committee for volunteering work and the development of a charter for volunteerism.

He further stated that the Ministry is working on creating a virtual youth center that meets the ambitions of young people and keeps abreast of the rapid digital and technological development especially in times of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

For his part, Mr. Fadi Daoud, executive director of TAG-KF and secretary-general of the Sindyan Entrepreneurship & Development, pointed out that TAG-KF is interested in facilitating networking young people with local and global institutions which have volunteering development opportunities in many fields.

Daoud said that organizing the forum underlines the importance of volunteerism and the solidarity of youth efforts in the face of the current crisis, saying that: ‘The difficulty of applying volunteerism in its traditional ways has forced us to shift to the virtual world in line with the shift of the whole world to remote work as well as digital volunteering.’

The forum’s agenda included a number of panel sessions, seminars and workshops with the participation of specialized Jordanian and Arab trainers in the fields of youth and entrepreneurship.

Sindyan’s Forum for Volunteering was organized with the support of a number of local and global volunteering and youth institutions including Bab Al Khair society, ‘Arab Noor’ Entrepreneurship organization, Bevol Platform for volunteering work and Forsa institution, in addition to the participation of a number of charitable institutions and organizations concerned with development.
